About Us
The Women's Centre of Excellence (CoE) in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit Baltistan is a high-tech training centre developed as part of the EU-funded TVET-IV Programme. This Centre of Excellence is set up on Hub-Spoke model with its hub established at IMSciences connected to 4 spoke institutes across both regions at D.I.Khan, Haripur, Gilgit and Skardu. This initiative aims to equip 1500 women and girls with future-ready skills in emerging technologies. With support from the British Council, NAVTTC, and HEC the COE provides market-aligned training, internationally benchmarked curricula, and practical learning environments for digital industries.
TVET-IV Programme
The TVET Sector Support Programme – Phase IV (TVET-IV) is funded by the European Union and implemented by the British Council and GIZ. The British Council through demand driven Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET IV) will work in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan and Balochistan to increase the availability of skilled female labour force in digital skills and high-tech professions. The British Council is leading on the delivery of the component 4 of the project which aims to develop high quality, relevant and inclusive TVET system with improved progression pathways to higher education and employment with the following two outputs:
- Output 4.1: Digital and High-Tech CBT&A courses are developed and implemented for training of women, including from refugee communities and returnees.
- Output 4.2: Two internationally accredited Centres of Excellence for digital skills and High-Tech for women are established and offer career-focused training programmes.
IMSciences Role
Through its partnership in the EU TVET IV project, IMSciences is committed to creating equitable opportunities for women and underrepresented groups, while shaping the future of Pakistan's digital workforce. As the Hub for KP and GB, IMSciences continues to foster innovation, gender inclusion, and sustainable impact in line with the project's long-term vision.
IMSciences under the TVET IV project is advancing:
- Inclusive Education & Employment: Strengthening women's pathways to higher education and future employment in high-demand digital fields.
- Capacity Building: Contributing to the sustainability of institutions through curriculum design, faculty training, and modern teaching practices.
- Innovation & Skills for the Future: Establishing internationally aligned Centre of Excellence that equip students with industry-relevant skills.
Courses offered at CoE
The hub & spokes will offer a variety of advanced IT courses including: Full Stack Web Development, Mobile App Development, Software Development, Game Development, 2D/3D Motion Graphics, AI, IoT and Robotics, Data and Financial Analytics, Digital Marketing and Content Creation, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, Blockchain Technology, E-Commerce.
Computer Labs & Smart Classrooms
The CoE established at IMSciences has five computer labs equipped with advanced computers and devices specializing in: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, Software & Mobile App Development, Fabrication Lab, Cybersecurity, Gaming and 2D/3D Motion Graphics. Further, the CoE has two Smart Classrooms with modern multimedia facilities.
